Is it ok to mod ff14? ›

Mods, or third party tools, are prohibited in Final Fantasy 14, although many players use them. On May 9, producer and director Naoki Yoshida, published a blog post on the official Final Fantasy 14 website stating that players' accounts could be suspended or even banned for using mods.

Penumbra has support for most TexTools modpacks however this is provided on a best-effort basis and support is not guaranteed. Built in tooling will be added to Penumbra over time to avoid many common TexTools use cases.

Square Enix' Terms of Service specifically states third-party tools that interact with or modify the games files and assets are not allowed.

It is still possible to get banned for misusing or abusing ACT. Here are known examples of actions that may result in a report and ban: Mentioning ACT or information received (such as DPS numbers) from ACT to other players that don't know you and don't know that you are using ACT.

It is prohibited to do this anywhere an expression can be made, such as all chat channels (including PvP Quick Chat, macros, and emotes), markers, comments, or titles. It is also a violation in cases where a player character name involves a term that could be considered offensive in any way.

Heliosphere is a package manager for FINAL FANTASY XIV mods, allowing easy installation and updates of mod packs. It utilises Penumbra to safely install mods without risk to the game's data files.

The /My Documents/TexTools/TexTools. modlist file is what TexTools uses to keep track of what mods you have installed at all in your FFXIV install, even if those mods are disabled.

As stated in the terms of service for FINAL FANTASY XIV: the use of third-party tools is strictly prohibited. Players who are determined to be using third-party tools will have their accounts suspended, or permanently banned for repeat offenses.

You are not going to be banned if you are not cheating, plain and simple. You are not going to be banned if you are not flaunting your mods/plugins out in the open with your profile revealing who you are ingame.

A Service Account Termination can be issued on a Square Enix account in the event of a severe violation being confirmed or repeated violations. A Service Account Termination will permanently remove your access to Final Fantasy XIV.

Install ReShade to ffxiv_dx11.exe .

It will pop up a scary-looking message box warning of bans when you first launch. Just ignore it; ReShade can get you banned just as much as GShade can, aka it can't. Don't install into ffxiv.exe , as that's the DirectX 9 version of the game.
